Chromium
The primary function of chromium is to potentiate the effects of insulin and thereby enhance glucose, amino acid and fat metabolism. Chromium is widely distributed in the food supply, but most foods provide only small amounts (less than 2 mcg per serving). Absorption of chromium from the intestinal tract is low. Absorbed chromium is stored in the liver, spleen, soft tissue, and bone.
