All About Natural Skincare

Your skin will thank you

Your skin is real and living – it’s your largest organ! – so why would you treat it with foreign, unnatural substances? Many inorganic products contain ingredients that do more damage than harm by stripping the skin of crucial elements that enhance its vitality1.  On the other hand, natural skincare products possess an abundance of crucial nutrients. Common ingredients, like jojoba oil, contain vitamins that benefit the skin when absorbed2. Not only do natural products make your skin happy, but they are kind to the environment as harsh chemicals do not clog the water systems.

What to look out for

Phthalates, a liquid used in toys and cables, is an ingredient in many lotions, soaps, and other skincare products. It can cause hormone imbalances, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) denotes it as harmful to humans and the environment. On the bottles, this ingredient is frequently disguised under the title ‘fragrance’ or not listed at all3

It is also important to be aware of other ingredients in non-natural skincare products, including aluminum and parabens which impact hormones, mineral oil that clogs pores, and siloxanes which are harmful to wildlife2.
