Best Smelling Essential Oils for your Home

Essential Oils have been used for years by practitioners of alternative medicines and are collected from plants through the process of steaming or pressing certain parts of the organism, including the flowers or leaves. They can be used in perfumes and cosmetics and even in processed food. Recently, essential oils have also infiltrated the world of aromatherapy1.

Thousands of years ago, Egyptians used a combination of oils from cedar, onion, grapes, and aniseed for cosmetic purposes. Later, Chinese and Indian cultures implemented oils in aromatherapy, using cinnamon, myrrh, and ginger in medicine. The Greeks continued this tradition and used plant oils, including saffron, mint, and thyme1.

More recently, humans have begun to use essential oils in pharmaceutics and aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a natural method that aids a person’s ailments through the sense of smell. It could work to alleviate stress, energize, aid sleep, and improve mood2.

At EarthTurns, we partner with Now Foods and carry their essential oils line, which we can hardly keep on the shelves. Here are some of the best smelling essential oils for your home, that may also have health benefits!
