Fibromyalgia Health Tips

What is Fibromyalgia?

fibromyalgia

It is a disorder in which the body has widespread musculoskeletal pain and other issues including fatigue, sleep issues, memory loss, and moodiness. This condition is not entirely understood in the medical community, but seems to be an amplification of painful sensations that occur due to brain signaling issues. There is currently no known cure for this condition or an exact cause known.

When do Symptoms Occur?

Symptoms of fibromyalgia often occur following a surgery, psychological stress, or physical trauma. There are also others that increasingly have symptoms that accumulate without a triggering event occurring. Women are more likely to develop this disorder in comparison to men. The symptoms of this disorder often co-exist with other conditions like migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, and even TMJ.

What are the Symptoms?

There are also those that experience extreme fatigue, even when they are sleeping for long periods of time. There are also cognitive issues that make the ability to pay attention and focus on details very hard to achieve. This is known as the “Fibro Fog.”
