Benefits of Dee Cee Labs Immune Boosting Supplement

Dee Cee Labs Immune Boost is a powerful immune boosting supplement that was designed to help you naturally boost your immune system.

Benefits of Echinacea

Three species of the medicinal plant Echinacea are of interest for helping the immune system. They are Echinacea angustifolia, Echinacea purpurea, and Echinacea pallida. For hundreds of years, Echinacea angustifolia has been used by Native Americans as a remedy for numerous conditions including: eye conditions, snake bites, insect stings, infected wounds, eczema, enlarged glands, mumps, and rabies.

For quite some time Echinacea was used for infections however, from the 1930s-1970s antibiotic use resulted in a steep decrease in Echinacea use. Then, due to disillusionment with the medical establishment in the 1980s, herbal medicine reemerged as an alternative and led to renewed awareness in Echinacea's benefits.

There are several double-blind, placebo-controlled studies that help to support the theory that Echinacea prevents or hastens the duration of a cold. In the first study, pressed juice of the Echinacea purpurea herb shortened the duration of the common cold. The study included 120 Swedish volunteers with symptoms of a cold. The volunteers also had at least three respiratory infections within the prior six months. Researchers counted the number of patients whose initial cold symptoms turned into a real cold, which was defined as a full upper respiratory infection. They also counted the number of days it took for each real cold to improve. Of the Echinacea treated patients, 24 of 60, or 40 percent, developed a real cold compared with 36 of 60, or 60 percent, who received placebo. The median time for a real cold to improve was four days for the Echinacea group vs. eight for those taking placebo. The conclusion was that the herbal extract of Echinacea purpurea, taken at initially high doses, prevents a real cold from developing or shortens the duration of those that do.

However, in another study, extracts of Echinacea purpurea root and Echinacea angustifolia, was less conclusive. The subjects in this study were 302 healthy German volunteers who took one of the two Echinacea extracts or a placebo for 12 weeks to evaluate its effectiveness at preventing colds. Both Echinacea groups had a 10 to 20 percent decreased incidence of upper respiratory infections compared to those taking placebo. However, according to the authors, these differences were not statistically significant and they thought a larger study was needed.

Benefits of Astragalus Root

Astragalus root is native to northern China and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Its first recorded use was transcribed over 2000 years ago. This powerful tonic root has been customarily used to revitalize vital energy, and to help support the immune system. Recent research in China reveals that Astragalus may have antioxidant effects in those people with severe forms of heart disease and might help in relieving symptoms and improving heart function. According to Chinese medicine, Astragalus root should be incorporated into a persons daily diet while they are healthy, and not only during times of illness. The purpose of this is to help build and strengthen the immune response.

Benefits of Elderberry

Elderberry has the ability to improve and sustain the immune & respiratory systems. Elderberry can be used to help prevent colds and flu by boosting the immune system when taken at the first indication of a cold or flu. This will help to reduce the period of the infection down to one or two days in some individuals. Elderberry helps the nutritional needs of the immune system by adding additional amounts of vitamin C, fruit acids and traces of essential oils and anthocyanin pigments (Anthocyanins are naturally occurring compounds that give color to fruits, vegetables, and plants. They are extensively distributed among flowers, fruits, and vegetables and belong to a group of plant compounds called flavonoids. Flavonoids are a subclass of plant polyphenols which may have antioxidant properties and are being investigated for their anticancer potential). The antibiotic, antiviral and antibacterial properties found in Elderberry also help to stimulate the skin, kidneys and lymphatic system. The flavonoids, including quercetin, are believed to account for the therapeutic effects of the Elderberry flowers and berries. A study in humans revealed that an extract of Elderberries is an effective treatment for influenza.

Benefits of Colostrum

Colostrum is the pre-milk fluid produced by every mammal mother prior to the milk production and is a rich source of antibodies, growth factors. According to many experts, colostrum is one of Mother Natures healthiest substances. It was designed by Mother Nature to give our immune system a boost and to promote body growth. Much research has revealed that colostrum has powerful natural immune and growth factors that bring the body to a state of balance.

Benefits of Vitamin C

Vitamin C deficiency can lead to several symptoms and conditions including: dry and splitting hair; inflammation of the gums and bleeding gums; rough, dry, scaly skin; decreased wound healing, easy bruising; nosebleeds; weakened enamel of the teeth; swollen and painful joints; anemia; decreased ability to ward off infection; and, possibly, weight gain because of slowed metabolic rate and energy expenditure.

When there is a severe deficiency of vitamin C, scurvy results. Since our body can not manufacture its own vitamin C and cant store it, it is imperative that you supplement with vitamin C or consume foods which contain enough vitamin C.

Benefits of Zinc

Many people have heard about the importance of taking zinc when you feel a cold coming on. The immune system is unfavorably affected by even a modest amount of zinc deficiency. In fact, severe zinc deficiency depresses immune function. Zinc is required for the development and activation of a type of white blood cell called T-lymphocytes that helps fight infection. When zinc supplements are given to persons with low zinc levels, the numbers of T-cell lymphocytes in the blood will increase and the capacity of lymphocytes to fight infection improves.
