Ginseng Cocktail by Dee Cee LabsImprove Endurance - Natural Energy SupplementGinseng cocktail by Dee Cee Labs is a combination of several active ingredients, including; Panax Ginseng, Eleuthero Root, Chromium picolinate and Coenzyme Q10.
Panax Ginseng
In various studies a combination of panax ginseng and gingko seemed to increase memory and thinking processes, and unlike American ginseng and Eleuthero or Siberian Ginseng, panax ginseng has been a component of Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Panax ginseng has been used for numerous maladies including; cancer (a large Korean study found that the risk of developing cancer in people who took ginseng was half that of subjects who did not take it), anxiety, colds, flu and for lowering blood levels of sugar (in Type 2 Diabetes) and lowering cholesterol. Panax ginseng is currently being used in Asian countries to treat heart conditions and lungs as well as to boost overall health in general. Panax ginseng has been known to have a relaxing effect on the muscles in the lungs and the resulting airway relaxation may facilitate the calming of asthma symptoms.
It has also been shown, that taking panax ginseng orally may enhance male fertility by increasing sperm count and quality. Some studies show improved erectile function, sexual desire, and intercourse satisfaction. To increase athletic performance, panax ginseng is often added to sports drinks or supplements. It is common for long-distance runners and body-builders take ginseng to enhance physical endurance.
CAUTION: Do not take Panax ginseng if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure or a heart rhythm irregularity. Do not use Panax ginseng if you are nursing or pregnant. Consult your doctor if you are using blood pressure medications. Panax ginseng increases the risk of over stimulation and stomach upset when taken with medications such as Ritalin. Do not use Panax ginseng if you take MAO inhibitor drugs. Long-term use of Panax ginseng may require a change in insulin or other diabetes medications. As always, if you have a medical condition and are not sure if you should take panax ginseng talk to your doctor before taking supplements.
Chromium
In people with type 2 diabetes, the pancreas secretes a large amount of insulin in an effort to regulate blood sugar levels, however the body's cells do not act in response to it. Researchers have found that a molecule called glucose tolerance factor (GTF) is critical for increasing the sensitivity of these cells to insulin. It turns out that GTF contains chromium. The Chromium picolinate form of chromium seems to absorb and be utilized by the body better. If GTF does indeed increase insulin sensitivity, chromium supplements may have a role to play in normalizing blood sugar levels. Numerous double-blind clinical studies have shown chromium to help lower sugar levels. A few studies have even found that chromium supplements enable certain people with diabetes to decrease their dosage of diabetes medications.
Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 seems to support the heart muscle's daily and demanding effort to beat 100,000 times per day. If your body does not have adequate levels of CoQ10 then the heart muscle can become weaker and also become less efficient at pumping blood.
Person's afflicted with heart disease tend to be somewhat deficient in coenzyme Q10. When blood levels are increased by supplementation it appears that heart function is improved. Another benefit is coenzyme Q10's antioxidant properties which may inhibit artery clogging cholesterol buildup and potentially fatal blood clots.
Note: (Siberian Ginseng name has been changed to Eleuthero. In May 2002 the
Farm Security and Rural Investment Act (Farm Bill) was passed
regulating the labeling of ginseng. Siberian Ginseng, botanical genus
Eleutherococcus senticosus must be labeled as Eleuthero, not Siberian
Ginseng.)
