What is Flaxseed Oil?

Flaxseed oil is one of the premium sources of Alpha-Linolenic Acid (Omega-3) and Linoleic Acid (Omega-6), two essential fatty acids that can't be made by the body and must be obtained from the diet. The other name for flaxseed oil is linseed oil.

And while Omega-6 fatty acids are also needed by the body, they must be at lower levels than Omega-3 so pay attention to the proportion. The ideal healthy diet is a one-one ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6. At present, our diets contain more Omega-6 fatty acids.
