Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc
Calcium is absorbed in the small intestine. To provide the rigid structure of the skeleton calcium is vital, around about 3lb of the body's weight is calcium, 99 per cent being in the teeth and bones. It is important in growing children to help bones grow and the elderly as the ability to absorb calcium becomes impaired with age.

Magnesium DeficiencyMagnesium deficiency symptoms include: impaired contraction of smooth muscles, constipation, urinary spasms, menstrual cramps, difficulty swallowing (or a lump in the throat), photophobia (sensitivity to light) and loud noise sensitivity. The central nervous system is affected and the following symptoms can develop: insomnia, anxiety and panic attacks, hyperactivity and restlessness. In addition, patients can suffer from numbness, tingling, and other abnormal sensations.
Cardiovascular symptoms of magnesium deficiency includes: palpitations, heart arrhythmias, angina due to spasms of the coronary arteries and high blood pressure. Another possible sign of magnesium deficiency is the craving of salt.
