What is the difference between 'Chemical' and 'Physical Barrier' Sunscreens?

Physical Barrier Sunscreens, such as Badger's, create a protective film on the top of the skin's surface that reflects the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun before it can reach living tissue. The two most common ingredients in physical barrier type sunblocks are zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Badger chose to use zinc oxide because it was determined that it was the safest & most effective choice, and it has been used effectively and safely for hundreds of years.

Ultraviolet light is composed of three wavelength bands: UVA, UVB and UVC. Only UVA and UVB can reach the earth's surface. The good news is that Badger Sunscreen can block both the UVA and UVB rays.

It is an anti-bug sunscreen which has broad spectrum SPF 34 and perfect for my husband when he plays golf. It is also organic, water resistant, etc, etc.....looks VERY nice. The scent is truly, nothing but ginger lol. It doesn't bother me, but my husband hates it. The worst of all is the texture. It is like clay, and my husband gave up spreading it on him. I do not recommend this. But there are not many anti-bug broad spectrum sunscreen around, so we may end up using this product.

I am so happy to consistly find this great product at your website! I've noticed other people have a problem with the consistancy of the sunscreen, but I found running hot water on the tube makes it easier to apply. Shipping is done "quick like a bunny"! Thank you.
