In one particular study, patients who took 800 mg of alpha lipoic acid for four months had improved heart function.

Some studies have revealed that chromium supplements enable certain people with diabetes to decrease their dosage of diabetes medications. Chromium helps insulin do its job so it seems sensible that it can help people with type 2 diabetes. Some studies have found that chromium picolinate supplementation in doses of 200 micrograms is beneficial, but others have not.
